Membership

Membership dues are an important part of financial support for the Society. We rely on the generosity of members and friends for this support. Becoming a member places you among the most civic-minded members of the community.

The most important benefit you receive is the knowledge that your donations are working to help preserve the history of Shawano County. The Shawano County Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. You will receive a receipt of your donation for tax purposes.

All members are invited to the Society’s annual meeting in October and are entitled to vote in elections for officers and directors. Members get priority in the event of time or human resource limitations that may occur regarding access to the Society’s services.
The Society offers these membership levels:

BASIC ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP

PIONEER: $25.00
Subscription to the Preservation Press newsletter.

FOUNDER’S CLUB: $50.00
Subscription to the Preservation Press newsletter and recognition in the newsletter.

PREMIER ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP

As operating expenses rise, this recently added membership level offers the opportunity to provide a higher level of financial support. Premier members will receive public recognition in addition to the newsletter.

SUSTAINING MEMBER: $100
Includes basic membership benefits plus a $20.00 credit to use in our gift shop and free tour privileges.

GUARDIAN: $250
Includes basic membership benefits, $20.00 gift shop credit, free tour privileges, and 2 free tickets to a fee-based event (value up to $50)

BENEFACTOR: $500
Includes all of the above plus the opportunity to designate usage of the donation within several general areas.

LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP

A one-time payment of $1,000 establishes you as a lifetime member, with free tour privileges and early access to fee-based events for life, along with a subscription to the Preservation Press newsletter and prominent recognition in it for your outstanding contribution.
