Notes

From its start in the mid 1800’s, Shawano County was built on logging.   In addition to logging companies, the entrepreneur also took advantage of the county’s forests.

The Kriesel brothers, from the Town of Grant, farmed in the summer and logged in the winter.   In addition to logging and farming, the brothers operated a cheese factory.
