Photo of the day, the Shawano Hotel on south Main Street in in 1929. The hotel was near the Chicago & North Western Depot where CoVantage Credit Union is today.
Art and Clara Fenske and 12 year old daughter moved to Shawano and purchased the Shawano Hotel. Art tended bar, Clara was the cook and Lucille was a waitress. Lucille said that she served Al Capone. The Fenske’s had the hotel until the early 1940’s. Lucille Fenske married Lester Foesch.
